Data Engineer

The KindHealth Engineering Team is looking to add some additional data engineering expertise as we continue to build out the data platform underpinning our entire business. We are looking for a data engineer who can help improve and iterate on our existing ETL infrastructure and data warehouse. The ideal candidate will be familiar with building and maintaining complex data pipelines and data warehouses, they should also have extensive experience with SQL and data visualization tools.

About You

  • You have a minimum of four years experience with at least two years of experience related to data engineering work (project based experience is great)
  • You are able to analyze and organize raw data, interpreting the trends and patterns
  • You are comfortable writing data and analysis tools from scratch in a programming language of your choice (e.g. Python & Java)
  • You are confident designing, implementing, and using SQL to query relational databases
  • You have experience with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
  • You enjoy finding ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • You are a self-starter and enjoy working in more of a “startup” environment
  • You are can communicate with clarity and empathy
  • You have strong numerical and analytical skills
  • You are knowledgeable about and incorporate best practices around data security
  • Bonus: You have direct experience with Snowflake and/or Keboola (our existing Data Warehouse and ETL Tools)
  • Bonus: You have experience creating dashboards and data visualizations using Google Data Studio

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build data systems and pipelines based on business needs and objectives
  • Collect, clean, and combine raw data from our various internal and external sources
  • Conduct complex data analysis and report on the results to the business
  • Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modeling 
  • Mentor and share best practices around data engineering with other engineers
  • Collaborate effectively with our product team, finance team, and other internal stakeholders to ensure that have access to and understand our data
